Cancer care and wigs with compassion and dedication

My journey to founding Grateful Hair Ministry began more than 30 years ago in the beauty industry. As a licensed cosmetologist, salon owner, educator, and wig specialist, I dedicated my career to helping women regain confidence through hair restoration and custom wig design.
Over the years, I worked with countless women experiencing hair loss due to alopecia and other conditions. Many were successful professionals who quietly struggled with self-esteem, fear, and embarrassment. I learned early that hair loss affects much more than appearance—it affects confidence, identity, and emotional well-being.
After earning my Cosmetology Beauty College Instructor License, I launched Bossi Gal Wig Academy, recognized as Los Angeles' first Wig Academy. With the encouragement and support of my school director, Cedric Goins of Pacific Beauty College, I began teaching aspiring beauty professionals the specialized art of wig making and hair replacement.
As my work grew, people repeatedly told me that what I was doing was more than business—it was ministry. My pastor, Lewis Logan, along with my church family, often reminded me that God was using my gifts to serve others in a deeper way.
Then something began to happen.
Women diagnosed with cancer started calling me, asking if I could create wigs for them before or during treatment. As word spread, Bossi Gal Wigs became known as a trusted source for women facing one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.
Feeling called to serve this growing community, I relocated my business to Beverly Hills to be closer to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where many of my clients were receiving treatment. I spent time sitting with women during chemotherapy appointments, listening to their fears, encouraging them through their journey, and helping them prepare for the changes they would face.
Those moments changed me forever.
I realized that I was not simply making wigs. I was helping restore confidence, dignity, hope, and faith. I was witnessing strength in the midst of suffering and learning what it truly meant to be grateful.
The name "Bossi Gal" had carried me through one season of my life, but God was leading me into another. My heart had become increasingly focused on service, compassion, and ministry. I recognized that I was already doing ministry work every day.
That realization gave birth to Grateful Hair Ministry.
Today, Grateful Hair Ministry exists to support individuals experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment, alopecia, and other medical conditions through custom cranial prostheses, education, encouragement, community partnerships, and acts of compassion.
I am also honored to serve as an Ambassador for the American Cancer Society's VOICES of Black Women initiative, helping raise awareness and support research that seeks to improve health outcomes for Black women across the nation.
Every wig we create represents more than hair.
It represents confidence restored, hope renewed, and a reminder that no one should walk their journey alone.
